Eliza & Frank I have no newes to write onley to pass A way the time my health is A Bout the same as I wrote in the other letter Frank have you got harpers weekley yet if you aint I want you to git them as I wrote to you in A letter some time A go I want you to Be carful & not soil them Eny for I wanter see them when I git home it would Be A pleasur to me now do as I wrote I hope you have got that letter I have got little Roys likeness out A looking at it he is so fleshy he looks good tell mary A Delia she can feel proud of her Boy he is A smart looking Boy I aint joking A Bought it wall how dose the Copperheads get A long in oxford I should think tha would feel Rather cheap to have / the southern Rebels come out so hard A gainst the northern copperheads & peace Democrats tha hate them wus then the union men tha farley dispise them tha call them trators to the union & thear contrey if you could hear them talk once A Bout them why thear is nothing to Bad for some of the Rebels to say A Bout the northern Copperheads wall I think so my self tha outer Be hung as traitors & spies A gants the union & country tha will Be Remberd from generration to generration. Frank I want you to Remembear them as trators to the union as long as you live. I cant do them justice god dam them all if I was thear I could free my mind on them tha are more trators to the union than Rebels at the south. it makes me so mad to think when I was at home to hear / them say peace compremise with the south & at hart in favor of the south all the while now we know what tha are nothing But trators the south dispises them now & the tru union men at the north also & whear Be the Copperheads now A disgrace to them selfs & thear children for Ever. how is marting now A peace democrat & copper head yet if he is he had Better Run his head into A hollow log & let his ass stick out Frank I send you two papers with this letter I will put in this letter five cents for you to By candy with for Elroy when he come over whear you live I would send more I wanter hear from them other letters first whither you got that or not I will finish this in the morning four oclock in the arfternoon I just got your letter tha has jest come to camp I also got the oxford times / with it. I never was so glad to hear from home in my life I have Benn lonsom & Down harted for two weekes the times look natual. I dont want you to suffer for Eny thing to Eat or to wear as long as ther is mony Enoughf you have taken good cair of frank & why should you suffer for something to make you comfable I will write A fiew lines to Mr Lewis & tell him to lett you have what mony you want he will git thirty two Dollars in A fiew days from me if he aint alredy got it. take that & clothe you & frank oup with it for the winter & dont suffer for eny thing to Eat git what you want. I will look out for numbear one I can tell you. I am having good luck now you can gess what at. you will find in this A fiew lines to mr lewis you can hand it to him & git some mony good Eavning Asa Holmes
