Eliza & Frank it is sometime sence I have Recveid A letter from you I Recveid the oxford times last night But no letter the date of the times was August 12th I was glad to git that it stated that Mr Dickison made A speech in oxford. I hope Frank went & heard him. the times states that A thearter was A gonter Be in oxford on the day of the fair. Eliza I want Frank to attend them & also you go with him so as to Explain it to him git the mony of Mr Lewis. I think it will Be some Benifet to Frank to go to sutch places ounce & while the Expence wount Be mutch he never will Be sorry for going & you woant nether for teaking him he never will Be sorry if it dos cost two Dolars he will allways Remembear what he see at the thearter in oxford when he gits old / ma Be you think I am indulgeing Frank to mutch I think not if he is A good Boy what is A litle mony to have him see somthing & learn somthing what is going on in the world I Earn the mony & I want him to have the Benifet of it for his instrction & good I dont want him to spend it fooshely. for Example you have got neahbors hav got children that was not out of town what do tha know what is going on through the united states tha never Read Eny thing nor go to see Eny thing what is going on if it is A gonter cost one cent tha dont know onley what sombody tells them whither it is write or not for tha dont try to inform themselves I dont want Frank to depend on what sombody tells him I want him to Read & try to inform himself & go & hear all speaches he can & see & / hear all he can & judge for himself & not take sombody word & think it is all Right Beceause sutch A man sed so. wall I think I have writen A noughf A Bout this on the first day of septembear the goverment owes me one hundred & one Dolars I hope I shall git my two months then so I can send the check so you can have the mony to use if I dont git my pay then thear is mony Enoughf with Mr Lewis you can git so you wount hafter go hungry nor dry nor naked for you ma think I am letting Frank have A litle mutch what he & you spend in that way I have writen never will A mount to nothing you neve will feel it & it will Be some Benifet to Frank I hope Mary A Delia wount think I am indulgin Frank to mutch I think she had drather have him / know somthing if it dos cost A fiew Dolars. I hope she will take the same pains with her Boy if it dos take A fiew shillings she never will Be Eny the poorrer By it & it will Be A Benifet to the Boy. if he is as smart as the likeness of him looks with A litle pains he will make A smart man. But dont ceap him housed oup nor always on the farm giv him A good Education & not umer him so as to spile him mevy you think I am writing somthing that is not none of my Bisness I dont care if you do I have wrote jest what I think A Bout it & no more. & I hope your mother will do By Frank jest as I have writen for I think it will Be A Benifet to him when he is older. mony is nothing to knolage.
