Eliza & Frank my health is A Bout the same as it was when I wrote the other letter. I cant tell when you will git A nother letter from me for we leave to marrow morning for new orleans & from thear whear we go, god onley knowes for I dont & I dont cair. we never have stop But A short time in one place yet we have Benn on the march mosterly of the time ever sence we landed in New orleans I shall write when we come to A stoping place if that ever is. you must write just the same as you have the letters will follow the Regement whear ever it goes. Frank you must not feel down harted if you dont git A letter from me in some time A gain tha think we will git our two mounths pay when when we git / to neworleans I hope so if we do I will send you five dolars in A letter if I have time to write one tha hurrey ous write A long some times dont wait for nothing if eny is left & aint in the Ranks when we start & dont Report to the company tha Belong to or Regement within three days the cause tha war left tha are put down as deserters so it stands one in hand to Be on the spot Every time & it will save him A grate deal of trouble Septembear.2th. 1863

Neworleans september. 3th 1863
we A Rived hear last night we are A gonte stay A short time till the division git Redey to start I got your letter to day dated August 13th maild August 15th & also A paper that had A letter in it that I wrote to Frank I never Expected to see A word in print that I wrote to Frank. what I have writen to him I ment Every word & I hope he will Remember it I have wrote A letter to you & half A sheate to mr Lewis & put into it for you to hand to mr Lewis stating to lett you have what mony you wanted I think you must have got it Before this time But I will write A fiew lines & put in this letter for you to hand to mr Lewis if he has got the other then you & him / will under stand it I hope you have got the letter that has got it in. it seemes that you have sent A nother likeness of Elroy I have not got that yet it seemes that I dont git all of yours & you dont git all of mine we are in camp gest Below algears station or depo A vary pleasant plase in camp hear is the 114th Regt & the 75th N y v & the 8 vermont & the 12 Connetticut all of the Regt have Ben to geather for A long time tha are A waiting for further orders & I think that wount Be A grate while. I am puty lame now & health is A Bout the same it is puty lively time hear in shipping & Every thing elce we are clost to the River I think I will Be able to go with the Regt when it starts I hope so for I dont wanter stay Behind Asa Holmes
