four oclock news from the army A caverly man Brot the news that our army has taken franklin tha took the strong fort this morning A Bout three oclock also one Boat with two thousand prisnors with it and the gun Boat diania witch the Rebels took from ous A short time Ago I wrote to you A Bout that. the steam Boat has not come down yet he ses thear is A Bought 150 wounded coming down on her I have not heard how many was kild yet tha are A gunter march write on to the salt works and take that that is 50 miles Beyeng franklin good news so fir. tha Bring all the prisoners hear and send them to New orleans. capt titus of company, C, of the 114 Regement has just A Rived from the army he ses the 114th had 30 kild some out of Every Company But he dont know he ses thear was But one kild out of company A and he dont know how many was wounded in the Regement. tha are on the march all the while he ses tha fought all one day till dark without A moufal to eat tha are drive the Rebels in all directions the army had got four miles A Bove franklin at ten oclock to day when he left he ses the steam Boat was stuck A Bove hear on A Bar he ses she has got A heavy load of prisnors on Board he ses tha have taken A grate many prisnors. he ses the 114th Regt and the 75 Regt and 23 Ct Regt are the advance Regements tha have Been A head all the way oup tha had to charge Bayonnett once yesterdy and the Rebels turnd and Run tha could not stand it he ses the 114th fought like tigers. Capt titus came Back with his close all tore he looks Raged to what he did when he went A way I will write the perticklears in A few days good luck to all Asa Holmes
