Sebut F. Taylor
Sebut F. Taylor was born around 1843 in Danvers, Massachusetts, to Eben M. Taylor and Mary A. Twiss. His father was a shoemaker who owned $500 of real estate by 1850. He grew up and attended school in Danvers, and by the early 1860s, he was working as a shoemaker. He married Elizabeth J. Sillers on November 13, 1863, and they had at least two children: Nellie, born around 1868; and Eben, born around 1869.
 
He enlisted in the Union army on July 15, 1863, and he mustered in as a private in Company G of the 3rd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery. According to his service records, he was 5 feet, 8 ½ inches tall, with brown hair and gray eyes. He mustered out on September 18, 1865. He settled in Peabody, Massachusetts, after the war and resumed his work as a shoemaker. He died there of nephritis on December 29, 1909.
