Dear Father I now take this opertunety to riting yow a few lines to let yow now that I am well at presant onley I have got 2 biles on my neck but they are a giting beter but I am doing nothing now for I aint done eney dutey hardly for a good while but pap I am Sates fide well e nuf if they had give me that job but we all thout we wood goe back to Louisville to guard the town but they took ouse 20 miles the outher day way but hit is a good plase but there is a bout 20 thousand ove the rebls at Green river it is 10 miles from where we are but there is 60 thousand of oure men a head ove ouse but ther is no danger ove ouse a giting into eney fite but they had a litle fite the outher day & oure men kild 90 ove the rebls and wounded 18 ove the Rebls they kild 15 ove oure men & wounded 8 ove oure men but pap when uncel dan comes back Dannel Edgston comes back he will bring a box ove pervisons with him & you can send me something with him but pap yow send some envoleps & riting paper for I cant get no paper worth eneything but send them stamps Soe give my best respecks to Baley Ellis & Isac Pery & to L Boular /
