Camp Wing
                                                                                                            March 31th 1862
 
Dear Mother I take the plasure of writing yow a few lines to let yow now that I am well at presant & hoping those few lines may find yow in the same helth well mother we lovd to of went on the Boat but there was not Boats enuf for to take us on and we had to go on foot but oure compney / was left at a plase to guard a bridge that went over a creek that they coll Stone river & I was down by the Bridge the other day & I thought that I wood get some paper & draw a small scetch of it so I sent it to pap in a letter but Mother we have a good time here & we get plenty to eat but ever sence we left Bowling Green I have bin a Shewing mules & horses but mother uncel Dan Edgson is here he came to day but mother / when I can get my litenes taken I will & send it home to yow I way 20 pounds heaver than I did when I was at home well Mother we have got paid of at Nashvill & we exspect to get paid of a gain be fore long Charles Liles died at Nashvill he eat 15 eggs that is oll at presant write soone direct the same as yow did be fore
