                                                                                                            Aprile 6th 1862
 
Dear Mother I set my self down to ancer too letters wich came to hand on the 3 of the month & they found me well at presant well mother we left that bridge the first day of aprile we went to the redgt it was at mufersburgh & when we get there the redgt ment got orders to march & we drawed five days rashons & we started the 3 day of the month and we went 15 miles in / the after noon then we campt for the night & the next morning we started for Shelbeyville & then we got there the rebles was at catchanega the tennessee river the 10 ohio & the 15 kentuckey & the 2 ohio & the 3 ohio took pesasion of the plase the 3d ohio was a head of the Balance but when we got there the wimen just hung out white flags for us not to heart them and as soon as we got in the town the peoople run up the Stars & Stripes / but we are a going to go down on a bout 10 miles day after to marrow there is a bout 4 miles of trusell work burnt down but we will haft to bild them well mother John Hunt is here we left bill riley back be hind lev Ellis sed that he was a going to get a dis charg that bill riley he cant stand it that is of at presant write
