            Dear Mother I take the plaisure of ancering youre kind and welcom letter wich came to had on the 31 of July it was wrote on the 24 and it found me well at presant and hoping when those few lines come to hand thay may find yow enjoying the Same Blesings well mother I havent not got much news to write to yow onley old Morgon tore up the Rail Road track up by Paint Rock and it ran the cars off of the track & cild tenn of oure men and there was a nother train coming behind the one that run off the track / and it was loaded with artillry and Soldigers & they took the artillry of ove the cars and got after old morgon & cild some 18 men of old morgons & we havent heard from morgon sence but Mother there was one of captons Loumses men drumbd out of camp & his head shaved I will tell yow wot it was done fore he took a club of wood & knoct a man down that belongd to Co. H. 10 ohio Regtment and then he to a gold wach a way from him & 60 dollars in money a way he went & they arested him and drumbd him & at camp and shaved his head So that is the way we do when eney of the Boys dose eney thing wrong. So mother / I never plaid a game of cards Sence I have bin in the armey nor don eney thing wrong but Mother we took old morgons ordley Sergtment prisners he is from Kentucke he youst to worke for Kilnin Hager and I will tell yow his name it is Kilnen Hager Petey cord and I asket him if his name was he node pap & he sed he did & he node uncel Hez and tomey Messer too but he sed he didant no me and I want pap to tell Mr Hager a bout it and I seen Robert ivens Brother he lives at aithons Ala he come to oure Regtment and asket if ther wos eney Boys from Barnesvill and the Boys told him / ther was some in co B and he come up & talket to us for a noure and yow tell pap to tell Mr Evins a bout it. well Mother Edson told me to tell yow to tell his wife the he did not get no letter fore pirty near 2 weeks & sed he wrote a letter evry 2 days except 2 days he did not get write mothe Mohanah is taking prisner but tell his mother to not be fritend for they will let him go So no more at presant write soone and give my best respecks to Soliman and oll of my frends & but when yow write tell me ho is inlisted in Barnesvill but tell pap to Stay at home and never inlist So write soon direct to Huntsvill Ala in care of capton J H Wing Co B 3d ohio Regt    O V I   Rousseau division
