            Dear Mother I take the pleaisure of ancering youre kind and welcom letter of the 8th it come to hand on 14th and it found me well at presant and hoping when those few lines comes to hand thay may find yow in joying the same blesing well Mother I havent not got much news to rite but yow sed that yow heard that McCook was cild I will tell yow wat McCook it is it is Colonel McCook but I will tell yow / how he got cild he was a riding a way before his regtiment and thare was some Rebls in the woods and thay come out and shot a ramrod through him and it cild him but his Regiment cout them and hung them oll up on trees and left them hang thare but Mother thay are a inlisting her in Ala oll the time we have raisd one Regiment her since we came here it is the first Alabama Regiment the Citizens has surrenderd and came back in too the Union but thare / is some that wont surrender but thay haft to come back in too the Union and walk under the Stars and Strips and we get plenty to eat now we get light bread evry day but me and tomey and Bill Barnes wos on guard at the Beag Spring in Town that is the plase that we get oll of oure watter but I never got eney letter that sed that Jos. Randolph was sick but I never node eney thing a bout it untill I got youre letter but capt J H Wing / brought my letter to me up town he sed that he was a going to a Pick nick but Mother Oure Ordley Sergtant has gone home to Barnesvill to recruit for oure compney and oure first Luit is with him but Elley Hall has arived her now he come the other day but that letter was from Beag Bill moore that yow got but Mother if yow can get eney chance I want yow to send me some small letter paper and envelops I told yow that Breck mohannah was taking prisners that was a mis Stake he came her the other day he was at Shelbyvill a halling grub but I am glad that he is her well I have bin a looking for web folger to come but yow wanted to no if we was a going to stay her eney time Genl Rousseau sed we wood stay her for 3 years if the war last but we will stay her I think but every thing is quite at Chattanoog no more at presant from Owen moore to Mary Moore     write soone
