            My dear Mother I take my pen in Hand to let yow now that I am well at presant and hoping when those few lines comes to hand thay may find yow enjoying the Same Blesings
 
            well Mother I havent not got eney letter from yow for pirty near 7 day and I have wrote / 5 letters and havent reseaved no ancer yet but I hope that I will before long long well Mother I am a going to leave my compney and work at my trade me and Robert Haze we have a regular detaill and get 26 dollars a month but Mother I would of not left my compney if it had a bin a hard job I wont halft to work halft of my time I will tell yow wot kind of work it is we haft Shew mules and repair wagons and mend chains and other small jobs but we are / a going to get paid of in the first of September and I am a going to Send my money to pap but yow never told me wether yow ever got that money from St Clairsvill or not but Mother I want to no ho oll has inlisted in town or not but I want to no wether Jas McKee has but I am glad to her that thay wont haft to draft in warn town Ship but Mother I want to no wether John Messer and web Folger has inlisted or / not but if thay haint inlisted and if thay want to inlist thay can come to oure compney for our ordley Sergant has gon to Barnesvill to recruit for oure compney but tell pap that tomey has sent Hannah has sent 75 dolars
 
So I must bring my letter to a close but give my best respecks to oll of my frends
