Edith Clare Putnam
Edith Clare Putnam was born on October 23, 1876, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Clarendon and Fidelia Putnam. Her father was a mail agent. The family lived in Worcester until the early 1900s, when they moved to Newark, New Jersey. By 1910, she was working as a teacher. She died of a cerebral embolism in New York City, New York, on December 2, 1938.
