                                                                                                                        Dear husband
I am riting in the parlor under the looking glass shelf by the stand it is sunday 2 o clock we are all well James begins to walk alitle James P is here Kelly has worked for me one week we have sowed 5 1/2 bushel of oats planted one acre of potatoes the garden made some fence repared some stone picked up Jes Noinans made us a stone boat we are going to fence the sugar bush for the sheep we are going to fence that piece that you talked of puting in oats last year that has so much wild grass this side the clover field for sheep we had Hays buck Church has ours it is warm and very dry days nights it is cold I have got money to or orders enough to buy that land J Runalds let me have 50 dolars 6 per cent old Britain 175 dollars 8 per cent I think I can rais the money this fall / I can have as long to pay it in as I want stoneham ofers me five acres of his slashing for one hundred dollars Riley I have not got aleter from you since a week ago saturday I fear you are sick o what will you do in that dismal place if you are sick o if I could be with you I always think of you when I lae down the first when I wake if I loose you that loss will never be made up to me in this world I shall ever be lonly and sad all that keeps me up is to do buisness is hope you will return I try to kep things to gether in hopes we may take comfort to gether yet we have enough to make us comfortable if you was here happy pleas excuse me for not writing more write often as you can I am crowded with buisness both in and of doors so farewell for this time dont worry about me or the children or anything                                                                         Lovicy A Carpenter /
