                                    Dear husband we are all well we recieved your leter yesterday with $20.00 in that makes $67.00 we have recieved lately Riley this is a triing time the Rebels are within 6 miles of haris burg there is a call for all over 18 under 60 years old the drums were beating in Meadville raising volunteers men enlisting one company gone from the hollar and blooming vally 3 from eria how many from mead dont know good many / there is men here yet that is ready to defend their country at a moments warning do it volantarily I am going to townville now to get something to make some shirts for you we have got our hoing most done david and his boys done most of it gratis here is the first rose of sumer may god protect you an keep you from harm we do remember you Riley in that forsaken Verginia nomor good by this in
