William M. Lunsford
William M. Lunsford was born around 1838. By the early 1860s, he was probably living near Goliad, Texas. He enlisted in the Confederate army on February 21, 1862, and he mustered in as a private in Company L of the 21st Texas Cavalry. Confederate officials transferred him to Company D of the 25th Texas Cavalry on May 1, 1862.
 
Union forces captured him at Arkansas Post in January 1863 and imprisoned him at Camp Butler in Illinois. He received a parole soon afterward, and he was admitted to the hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, on April 18, 1863. He returned to duty on April 25, 1863, and he died sometime afterward.
