Dear Wife
your welcome letter came to hand by yesterdays mail I was delighted to hear that you and the children were in the enjoyment of good health as this leaves me at the preasent thank God
 
we arrived hear three days ago and I think by the looks of things we will stop some time that is if the Enemy lays quiet the pay master is expected hear today or tomorrow to pay off the troops the weather is awfulley warm this last week I wished when you write you would let me know if John Parker is home you wanted to know if Benjamin Milefsky escaped he did and is in good health he has wrote all my letters since John Dexters death our Company was very luckey at Gettiesburg but it was the other way at Chancellersvill I received the six postage stampes you sent me when I want more I will write
