Elizabeth Oblinger
Elizabeth Oblinger (maiden name: Rasley) was born around 1833 in Pennsylvania to Jacob and Elizabeth Oblinger. Her father was a weaver who owned $250 of real estate in 1850. She probably grew up and attended school in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania. She married Grantum Oblinger around 1850, and they had at least five children: Alice, born around 1851; Francis, born around 1854; Eliza, born around 1856; Daniel, born around 1859; and Clinton, born around 1861. They moved to New Jersey sometime in the 1850s. Her husband enlisted in the Union army in 1861 and died on September 25, 1863.

Elizabeth applied for a widow’s pension in January 1864 and eventually secured one. She married Nelson Baylor around 1867, and they had at least two children: Lucretia, born around 1868; and Kate, born around 1869. They lived in Solebury, Pennsylvania, and Baylor worked as a slater. By 1870, they owned $150 of personal property. A decade later, they were living in New Hope, Pennsylvania; and by 1900, they had settled in Lambertville, New Jersey. Baylor died in 1911, and she passed away in 1918.
