My Dear Wife
I now dedicate an hour to thee for the purpose of answering your last kind and interesting communication of the 5th of Nov.
I was very glad to hear that you were well and the family the same
We are now stationed at Mannasses Junction and in all probability we will winter here the weather is fine and cool here
The Paymaster has not made his appearance yet he is expected every Day
General McClellan / passed through here to day on his way to the North we were turned out to see him as I write General Hooker is here and they are firing a salute in honor of the Occasion
In your last you spoke of getting the house repaired if the Landlord does not do it you can have it done and deduct it from the Rent
There is no war news here worth speaking of all is quiet in this vicinity
do not fail to write as soon as you get this
Kiss the Children for me Keep one for yourself and believe me as ever Your Devoted and Affectionate Husband
