Dear Wife
I receved your kind letter which gave me grate plesure to hear that you was well as this leves me at present I was glad to hear that the child was well I receved the glovs you sent to me thay fit me well thay gest came in good time for the nites is turning verry cold here now We dident get paid here yet but we expect it ary day When we get pay I will send you my liteness We expect to go on picket on tuseday again if it dont rain While we are on picket we dont care for the cold but if it rains it will be verry onplesent / I was glad to here that your Mother is gon to ohio to your father When you here from them let me now you metiond to me that you was gone to bord out but i think you wod be more comfortable in your on house But you can pleas your self if you want to bord out for i woud be glad if you coud make your self happy give my best respects to William Mcdonald and tell him i woud be gest as thankful to him if he wodent take so much trubble on his self about me i havent much more to say but remain yours truly
