Mrs Matilda Wells dear wife i take the privelige to write a few lines a gain before i have received an answer from the letter that i wrote on the 13th i thought that i would surtinely get an answer from it to day but it did not come and i had a couple of potographs that i wanted to send home so i thought i would send them to day for fear that i might spoil them if thay get home / safe put them away and keep them for me for thay are my faviorite Generals although General Reynols fel at Gettysburg and his galient form wil lead us no more yet he is rememberd by every true freeman when i wrote to you before i told you that i was wel but i have not ben vary wel since then and am a bout half sick at the present time i have no news of importance to write and my intentions wasent to write to write mutch so i wil close by biding you good by for this time and / ever remain your affectionate husband
