                        I received your kind and welcome letter a fiew days a go and would of ritten sooner but have bin buisey we had Brigade Derssparade on Sunday Brigad Review Monday Tuesday we had Co. Drill in four noon and in the after noon I was on a detail and that cleared me of a turene of guard yesterday we drilled in the fournoon and had a big snow storme in the afternoon and I mad one trip to the woods a big gob this day we wer paid so we had no drill to day and I went to the woods a gain a good peace to go for a stick of wood Thare is a good many men in the Regt tite to night. the Lieutenant Eugean Risner come up a while a go and invited me down to take a / drink with him. I did so but I neaver will get as drunk as some do. I have neaver felt liquor sins I have bin out nor do not wish to I was mighty anchious to get this money for I expect you stand nead of it. I will enclose seven dollars in this and will send you more soon gust spend it as you pleas but be shure and keep a nough to make you and the Bird cormfortable I would not tell any one that I got any.
