Catherine Butz
Catherine Butz (maiden name: Campbell) was born around 1829 in Pennsylvania to Josiah and Rosanna Campbell. Her father was a carpenter who owned $300 of real estate in 1850. She married Joseph Butz around 1860, and their daughter Ella May was born around 1863. They lived in Frankfort, Pennsylvania, and her husband worked as a cabinet maker. By 1860, they owned $200 of personal property. Her husband was drafted into the Union army in July 1863, and he was discharged for disability in December 1864. By 1870, they owned $550 of real estate and $125 of personal property. They moved to Hanover, Pennsylvania, in the late 1800s. Her husband died in 1904, and she applied for a widow’s pension in June 1904. She died in Pennsylvania in 1905.
