dear brother i sit don to let you no that i am in the land of the living yet i am well at present and i hope that this will find you all well Samuel it has bin sum time sinse i hird from you but i hope that we may liv to meat a gane it is raning hear to day we had a hard fight hear last night but the good lord has spard my life wonse more Samuel them fellos at home that thinks that thay wont be eny more hard fiting i wold / like it for them to com don hear i think that thay wold see all thay want to see yet Samuel i tel you the way the bumshels flu last night made olde nells ise stick out but it ant the furst time Samuel we have sum vary nise wether don hear the frute treas is all in blow but that dont make it plesent hear for thare is to meny mines a flying a rond tel henry that i think that he mint rite to me giv my lov to all my frens pleas tel me whare to drect to Chester i hant got eny leter from home / Sense i went back right all the nuse dont forgit a word Samuel as son as we get pade i will send you my liknice wal it is non and imst git my grub so i will bring my leter to aclose so good by for this time right sun from your
