December the 9th 1860
My Dear Sister I take my pen in hand to Let you know that wee are all well at presant and I hope when these fiew lines come to hand they will find you Enjoying the same Blessing Know Sarah this is Sunday evenin and I am Sleepy for I was sitting up with the sick last Knight up at Katys. Col[paper hole] is sick and has been for a right smart while he is so know that he cannot lidown he has to sit in a chair all the time and ther is know no hopes of his geting well the Doctors sayes that he is like his Father was. Well Sarah I guess you would like to know when I am coming to see you I do knot know whether I can come out this winter or not but I will try and come if I can get time. I am going to School now and I have to put in all the time I can this winter My Studies is Grammar Arithmetic Reading and Writing &C &C
My dear Sarah I must come to a close prety soon You must say gosh to some of the Wimen for me till I come out Know it is geting dark and I must quit the girles want to wright some to you and Will So Good by
