March the 13th 1861
My dear Sister I sit down to wright afew lines to you hoping they will find you all well at preasant they leave us all well except bad colds Albert has had a very bad cold and pap Mr Hubbards folks are toleable well at preasent except granpap and grany they are bad off pap and Mr Hubbard went to town yesterday and they thought granpap wouldnt live untill they got back grany gest lays ther she is as helpess as a litle baby. Jane Tursey is dead and her funeral was preached a Sunday I went and there was lots there Mr Hutchenson a preacher from Livonia they all like him for apreacher the best kind. we went to Schooll yesterday for the last time this this winter I blieve al tey Scholars liked him for a teacher. I would like to come out there the best kind but I cant for I havn got any mony I am a going to have some tough some time I hope you had your fill of Shugar on a chip you and Will promised to come in in six weeks when you went away but iguess Will has to mutch work to do now. duck and Sol was up a Sunday and they were all well bilys folks were all well when we haerd of them last but ther school was broke up with the purified sore throat. tell will idont intend to write any more to him until he writes to me. tell Julia I want her to writ to me ihope she will find some purty boys out there to content her self with Perlina Flin is a try ing to get up a summer school She wants to commence the last of this month idont think she will let the horse get cold pap says he wont sign to her nor send other cips Mas Coy is Maried to a Hueston one of Frank Hueston Sons boy I guess She has got a good Husband. Charlotte told me to tell you that her and Alice had a new doll and they are qute proud of them Milton says he would like to see you Robbert said he wish you would come in uncle Robert is sick he has the plurasy irasiplos in his face I must come to a close by saying that Mother said she haden time to rite this / time pap has made our garden lots biger an he has give us lots of room for flower.
