My Dear Brother and Sister and Friends it is
With the Greatest of
Pleasure that I take My Pen in Hand this Good Sabath Morning to Answer Your Very Cind Letter I Recived Yesterday Evening I was Glad to here that You Was all Knocking around but was Sorry to hear that You was not Well of that Cick Yet but I hope when these fiew lines Come to hand they Will find You all Well as thanks to the good being it Leaves all of Us Hoosiere Scouts Well at Presant Well Will You Can tell Julia and Jim that I Send my Best Respect to them and Wish them a long and Hapy Life and at Last when they / Com to Dye they may both be Saved in Heaven for Christ Sake Amen. Well Will when I Wrote to you last we was at Camp Muldroughs Hill I told you that we was agoing to March the next Morning and so we did we got and Early Start and Marched that Day till about 4 OClock where We all Stoped in a large field Close to the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and Close by a bridge Called Nolin bridge which the Secesh had burnt some time ago but it is repaired now redy for the trains to pass over it I am going to see it right now I have Just Came back from the bridge it is now 4 OClock we have to go on Dressperade at 5 I will now tell you as near as I can how many there is in Camp at this place there is about twenty thousand here / Now You Just aught to see how nice the tented fields looks on a Sunshiny Evening We have 4 Drills a day and Dressperade at 6 in the Evening We have Company Drille at 7 Oclock in the Morning Battaglion Drille at 9 1/2 Oclock, Company Drille again at 1, Battaglion again at half past 3 Oclock Dressperade at 6, Roll Call at 9, then go to bed and lites Out Roll Call at the Brake of Day and all that ant out of their tents and in Line they are marked and then put on Double Duty I have not been marked or put on Double Duty or put in the guard house yet nor Dont intend to be if I can Help it the Male Comes in Camp Evry Evening I got A Leter from / Home this Evening they said that they had all been Sick but are all Knocking around now. Pap has got a Very bad Rising on his hand Just like the One you had on your hand Well Will our hole company has to go on Picket Guard in the Morning and have to stay on 24 Hours we are Stationed all along the rode from the Camp 4 in a place and we have to Ceap all spyes out of Our Camp. Well Will it is prety near 9 Oclock and I must Wright a litle to Sarah So Good
