Dear Children I this Morning pick up My pen to drop you A few lines to let you No we are all well at this time hopeing When these few lines come to hand tha May find you well and doing well you may think Strange that I did not Write be fore now I will now tel you tha Reason I was so afflicted with boiles I Could not set nor do enny thing elce I had only seven on my loer end at one time Mr forders promest me tha would rite Now I will tel you how we got home we got home monday nite at 8 olock we Had rain you no it commenst raining on us a bout 6 miles from Crawfordvill and raind til a bout 11 o clock we had a bout 2 miles this side of Crawfordsvill and then we did go far Til commenst raining and raind ontil Nearly nite it raind none that nit Next morning it comments raining and raind til 12 oClock and fell of we stade all nite a bout a mile this of White river / you beter beleav it raind Saturday Nite and Sunday morning we did not Starte til late in the morning still raing we Traveld in the rain A bout 2 hours and it Stop raining we had no more rain til we got Home we found all well mr forders famly is Well I have not mutch to rite at present Wm Baker and Mary martin was marid The 16 day of october times hear is no beter Wheet is worth 70 cents per bushel Corn 25 cents per bushel thare is no demand For porke no price set no offers made Times remains hard money skers tho I think We will have beter times the Soldiers are Beging to send money home and I think it will circulat a mong the people We hold a way a bout 20 bushels potatoes and made a 40 gallon barrel fool of croute Well I believe I have rote a bout all I no at This time I want you to rite as soon as this Comes to hand and let us no how all the Friends are and How tha are giting along Curtes in pertickler you must excuse me for Not riting sooner I will promies you I try And do beter har af ter your ever as loveing parence until death
