Dear Father Mother Sister & Brother I take the preasant opportunity to rite a few lines to you hoping they will find you all well as I am happy to say that I am well and in good spirits We are seing fine times now my obgect in riting a few lines this morning is to let you know that I am making arrangement to send home some more money the Govonor Morton has made arrangement for all that want to send money home / there is 3 Rols made out giving the name the amount you want to send and the person you want it sent to one of theas rols ar cept by our Captain one by the Pay master and one is sent to indanapolis to Goodman the state agent the money is then paid to him and he expresses it to the person we ma desire. I have made arrangements for him to express $40.00 to you for Sarah it will be sent to Salem I thought it would be best to send it in your name
 
I will rite a letter to Sarah in 2 or 3 day and direct it to New retreat but I thought it would be best to rite a few lines to you for it will be their before many days I expect if it goes rite
