Deare father & mother sisters and brothers with pleaseure I seate my selfe this morning to drop you A few lines to let you no how I am A geting A long I am well and harty at this time & I hope when these few lines comes to hand they may find you all ingoying the same good blessing I have nothing of importance to rite at this time we have got A nice time hear we have nothing to doegh but eat and sleape we have not bin sworen in yet nor I doante no when we will be Governor Moarten came out to campe last sunday eavening and gave us A nice speach it was short but good then General Carington got up and spoke A few words to the pointe /
General Carington was heare yestorda eavening & gave us A nice speach he sais he naver had comande of A beter army of men than is in campe now thare is A baut 6 thousand men in campe now and they still keape coming theire is men bilding new barax now theire will be roome for some seven thousand men in A day or to moare well enough of that I will tell you some thing A bout what is going on in campe I went to meating last night and it was A good meating while I staide I got so cold that I had to leave after I started back to my barax I thought I would like to no what was going on some was fidling and dancing others riting some swering some singing others reading and others sleaping some playing cards others throwing dice and playing marbels now /
well pap I would be tolarable well sates fide if I new my famaly was well situated but that does make me dissadifid for I doant now whether theire is any body to asist them any or not I hope and trust the lord will provide some way for them I have put my trust in him and him A loane
I want you all to rite to me as soane as this comes to hand
