Dear father in I
once more seat my self to rite you a few lines to let you know that we are all well at the present and I hope when thes few lines come to hand they may find you all well and a doing well well being as you wont rite to me I thought I would trouble you a little any how to read a few lines I can tell you that I am a bout dun plowin for corn I want to plant all my corn next week if I can we have had a good deal of wet this spring but evry thin looks well this is the earlyest spring we have had mabe /
 
            well old father Abe is dead and in heaven I hope he was to good to live any longer but I could kill the one that kild him if had a chance I thouht this war was about ove when richmond was taken but now I cant tell when it will end nor no one els
 
I want you to see whether you can get me a place to moove to about the first of september I want you to rent me a place if you can and if you cant rite to me and tell me I want you to rite to me as soon as you get this Sol
