Dear Father and mother throu the kindnes of god I am a gain permited to pick up my pen to rite you a fu liens to let you no that I hav got home a gain and I thank god that I got home and found my famley all in good helth and ar still well and hop and pray that these fu liens may find you all well and doing well well father I dont know hardley what to rite to day for my mind hasent got setteld yet if I was with you I cold tell you a great meney / things but I am not with you to day well father I will tell you that I hav waded the swamps of gorga and of south Corlina and clim the mountins of north Corlina and verginia and returned to gods Cuntrey A gain you dont no how hapy I feel I went to a larg diner yestrday down to mr trinbell it was the finest diner that I ever saw and a larg croed and every thing was nise and fine well father I will tell you that I was in the sity for sevrel days and went all threw / the capetell and the patent ofes whitch was a nise site but I will not try to tell you eney thing a bout it in this letter but will som other time well you will ask me what I am doing I will tell you that I am doing nothing now and I cant tell what I will go at yet I will rest a fu days longer and then I wil go at something well father and mother I wod like to se you the best in the world but I dont know when that time will be I wod lik for you to com / and se me and if you cant com I want you to rite and tell me how you ar giting a long for I havent had a letter from you sinc I left richmon va and that semes long well I will close for this time hoping to hear from you soon
