Dear Julia
it is with plesure that I take my pen in hand to inform you that I am well and harty and I hope that those few lines ma find you all injoying the same grate blessing well Julia I harley no what to rite but I will try and say sumthing whether it interrests you or not but I no won thing and that is it will put you to the truble of reading it well Julia if you hav not sent / that muney that I rote for you nedent send it for we will be pade of in a few days so that I wont need it well Julia I am back with the battery but I dont know how long I will stay here tha ar detalen all the men in to other battereys a bout three weaks a go there was forty eight men detaled in to the fifth Ind Battery and there is now forty men detaled in to the 18th Ind battery and the rest of us will be sent som where elce I dont know where forder and I ar still to gether and we ar a going to tri to stay to gether we wanted on this last detale but we could not make the trip but perhaps we may yet be fore tha git away / but if we dont we can serve the rest of our time amost enney place but after the seventh of next november we ar going to quit solgern tho ther is a grate dele of talk of them keeping us our ful three years but tha will hav a good time of it for we will all hang out for our rites and a bayonet wont skear us worth a sent for we hav seen to menney of them to skear at we will all go to the militarey prisen for the rest of our time billey Wilson of lafeyatt ses that he will git us out and we ar going to imploy him if tha try to keep us let it cost what it will for ten munths with you is worth more to me than / all the money that I can rase rase at that time well Julia I will send you that ring in this letter but I am afraid that it is to big for you but you can put it on furst and then you can put on the red won to hold it on the resen that I got it to big was I bord the hole be fore I ground it down then it was lop sided and I had to make it to big I am a fraid
well I must cum to a close by asking a intrest in your prairs that I ma be kept faithful til deth and at last meet you all in heven wher ther will be no more parting or soring but all will be peace and hapiness pleas rite soon and often yours as ever
