My Dear sister
I received your letter last tuesday. we are all well at present and hope it may find you all enjoying the same. we are still at work on the house Jon Watkins has left us he put down some bastebards wrong and brother T knocked one off and he went home and toled the Dr he could not do any thing to please us as you have heard from brother dick before this time i will not say anything about him we have a plenty of water melons I reckon you have heard of faney gills’ death Mister haws says he do not want the flannel if it is not very thick. Dr hawlet say he will take 25 pair and give you the heigest price 8 pair for boys 17 pair for men he says that is the wright kind of iron i do not reckon i can come to the protracted meeting if i can get the money i will try/and come before long i have a half a gallan of molases for you if you can get it give my love to mother and sisters and ceive a portion for yourself one of you all must come down and stay a while. I have a lonesome time of it since brother dick left i had packed all of my clothes and tools up to come up there brother tommy says he will take enoug flannel to make a couple of shirts well as i have nothing more to write i must bring my badly writen letter to a close you must excuse bad writeing as the flies is so bad. you must answer my letter soon and write me word how uncle M is I remain your affectionate brother
