Daniel W. Partin Jr. to Sarah Britton, 21 June 1862
Chesterfield City Va , June 21 1862
Dear Cousin
I received
your letter before I went
From Petersburg but will not
have the time to answer
it and since I have been
At home and neglected it
until now so this evening
I thought I would write
Before I went back as I
was going Tuesday. I have
been home a fortnight to
morrow. I was in the
Battle that was fought
Tomorrow three weeks
But did not get a
scratch two balls struck
my gun there was three
killed in our Company
Davy Morrel, W. Grunnally
And Lieut Adkins and
General wounded. I have
Been very sick but well
now When you write
Direct your letter to
Richmond. I herd that
Cous Richard was sick and
In the hospital at Richmond
Moms and Swittie sends
Their love to you all and
Says you must come soon no more
