Dear Wife
I am here in camp enjoying myself quite well We have got marching orders & expect to leave here on Saturday next; it is not known yet where we shall go. Tomorrow we expect to get our pay & none but Soldiers will be allowed on the grounds but on Friday—day after to-morrow sitisens will be permitted to visit the camp & only then if you should get this before that time you might tell the neighbores so that they can come up if they want to As soon as we get to our destination I will write you & let you know how we get along At present / we are all engoying camp life first rate & growing fat at it if we come to nothing wors than we have here we shall do well enough You must have good courage & make yourself as comforteble as you can Our company is composed of about nine tenths married men so you will see that you are not alone in sending a soldier to the field Remember that I shall do well enough under most any circumstances my only [?] will be for you. take care of yourself as well as you can & be contented in the belief that all will end well with us yet Kiss each of the Children for me
