Dear Parents
This after noon I will say a few words to pas away time with rather than to be into mischief or doing nuthing. I am in good health at present excepting a little headache. I have bin botherd considerable this winter with the sick headache but can get along with that if have nuthing worse. I was botherd last winter a good deal with it. But if nuthing happens wors than that to me 10 months will bring me home again. /
Munday.
Feb. 1st—1864
this Rainy morning I will Sit here with Docks Picture in front of me and lying on the table and finish my letter. As for that over coat I drawed it and let the Capt wear it home for me you can keep it or sell it if you can get 10 Dlrs let it go. because I will have another when I come home in all Proberbility and if you cannot get ten for it you can save it till I come and then maby I shall want a coat to do chores in &c. I will now say that we had the best meal this morn / that we have had out of the Box and what do you think it was. Well say for inst. It was Sucatash and it was splendid. Jud said that was the best meal we have had since he came from Baltimore. You Spoke about the cake and I will aswer the question. I did not intend to say any thing about it until I cut it but will now say if we stay here I shall keep it 39 days longer and that will of course carry it to the 10th of march and that will be my bearthday 20 years. So you wont hear any more from it until then and then you will hear the / Results. The Sausag was about as nice as any thing come to suit and and every thing is nice more to.
Jud got a letter from home and answerd it and gone to Bed. He is one of the best Boys we have in Co. F. Steph is reading bill is in rather poor health. Tell Em Krueger whitmire and Vinater have gone in for the big bounty.
the has 32 out of our Reg.t. Renlisted and part of them gone home. Also Seth Hinmen has gone in. he was here and got Sworn & musterd in. well cannot finish now Eph. Brown.
