Lucinda Brown (maiden name: Morris) was born on May 7, 1824, in Hartford, New York, to Charles Morris and Sally Moon. Her father was a farmer who owned $2,500 of real estate by 1850. She married John Brown in Otto, New York, on May 15, 1842, and they had at least three children: Ephraim, born around 1844, Charles, born around 1846; and Sarah, born around 1851. Her husband worked as a farmer in Otto, by 1860, they owned $3,200 of real estate and $200 of personal property. John died on September 26, 1866, and Lucinda moved to Plainfield, Michigan, soon afterward. In 1870, she was living with her son Ephraim in Plainfield. By 1900, she was living with her daughter Sarah in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She died in Englishville, Michigan, on November 7, 1900.
