Dear Parents
                                                                                                            With pleasure I adress you with another line as I was payed 8$ to day I will send you 5$ they evory month and I got pay for 8 days. I am looking a little for Monroe this week
 
I dont know as I shall stay where I am long for I think I can get a better posish
 
            Mr & Mrs Manley returned Friday. I have not bin to see them yet but intend to day or morrow / Father I will send you this five dollars and sorry I havent more. Mother I will send you some soon as I get it I chances to earn a little evory day or two as I have the days to myself Father I would like to be there to day to take a ride after your little horse but shall have to put it off till next winter.
 
Take good care of my colts Father and I will pay you well for it some time if not now. I am sorry your / Rheumatism bother you so but that you cant work but we cant always have our health.
 
Mother send the things soon as possible for I shall kneed them the Soldier pants you can color one pr. & make coat & vest out of blanket I will send a paper so you can see the Inauguration of the Reelection of A Lincoln & soforth also we have a great victory in the Valley again.
