Campbell Hospital.
Aug. 24th/64
                                                                                                            Dear Parents I will enclose another Sheet. I dident send the letter last eve. I am so to be round and take my regular Rations and that is about all. Dock I havent heard a word from Him since the 8th of this munth but expect to every day spose he is off down in N. J. some wheres Fating up on Peaches apples and big Mellons. perhaps he has written to you before this time. I dont worry any about him because he is all right in all Proberbility and enjoing the sweet comforts of a Soldiers Life. / I think if I was in his place I would be all sound on the Goose question if he gets sick of it all he has got to do is back off and be satisfied. now dont be any alarmed about him.
 
            Mother I am glad you are as well pleased with those little notions as you Pretend you are. I have about made up my mind that if I get out of this in time that I shall try and learn how to do a little better than that and in Reading writeing Spelling and syphering. which I am sensible would add and be a great help to me. I was glad to see Paws letter and will maile one to him soon /
 
if Just wants the Little Boys of the 2und Corps & the Olde Comander Genl. Hancock to Lead them, We would fix them Red-Skins in a short time So they would be Sick of their trades. Well I will change Base and say I forgot about Mr Greens harness I sent it to Otto. So you will P.S. inform them of it. I am afraid they will loose it. I am expecting to hear something about them colts that isent right every time you write I will be glad when I get them to take care of them. I will take them out on a raid that they wont like to go out on maby.
 
How much do you think / could get for them Write me if any one wants to purchase and if they do let me know what it is and what terms I call them worth $200.00 now & $250.00 next Spring. but I dont know if I go to school this winter as I can possible keep them. Dock diden get his 5 probibly will be as well. My Shoulder is about the same as in my last messive. I am agoing to write Ant soon. Expect one from Frances every day I am agoing to see Steph Thursday. I heard from Jud the other day. was about sick.
 
well you have spoke about the washing so much I will now tell you we get it done & pay 5 Cts a piece or & dont know but Dock pays 10. no what is the use of being home sick what good would it do. now Steph is all sound for his discharge in Sept. & the Money is all sound. I heard from Sammy last week he is well I forget the place but all right unles they starve him to death. well this letter has bin to answer questions how do you like it. guess you will be satisfied Give my wishe to all inquiring Write once a week any how E. E. Brown To Pap Mam & Dock
