Feb. 8th—1864
Dear Parents
this morning I am about to tell you that I am yet on the land of living and all right in good health toughf Rugged and of course as Saucy as any Soldier kneed to be Steph is all right also Jud. Bill is poor health. Otherwise the boys are all well in Gen far as I know any thing about.
Charley Pratt sits here reading and sais tell you he is all right and wants Dock to write a line and put in my next letter. /
I will now say I must hurry and finish so to get this in the maile I have wrot 2 before this one to The G. and another to Aunt Matild. And the 3d one goes to Dad and Mam. if you will write the Direction of ant Jane S. and Uncle Roswell and Aunt Mariann I will write to them. But other wise I cannot see the point why in the Old hary dont you write about that cheese. I have eat one about up and sold of of it 1400 Dls worth. I have the other whole yet & shant cut it till / Payday because I dont want to loose on them I wrote to Em for a watch [?] why dont he send it you will all have to apeear before me at the End of my Enlistm and give account of your Selvs if you dont do better.

the Stamps came through all right charge them to my account. Jack must write soon and tell the news the Gloves came last Eve all right they are a nice pair what will a pair of Shirts cost me them coton. / I shall have to have you make me a pair and send for summer.
well this makes 2 to one so will close with a short letter the Cavl & 2nd & 3d Corp is crossing back or rather Recrossing. Spose our men got mussed a little
