Dear Parents.
Yours dated of the 25th is duley at hand and I now hasten to apply I am well and trust this to find you all the same. I was much pleased to hear you would start my clothes soon as you could get them made but I am affraid you cant cut them so they will be fit to be seen. On Washington streets every thing wants to be in style or a man is no Boddy. But I / wont grumble untill they get here any how then I can tell better what will be the result. I was glad to hear that you done so well with those K_d.G_s. I wrote in my letter for you to give Sophia & Frances each a pair & you & Delores 2 pair a pece and if Em wanted a pair you ought not took anything from him as he was so kind to me & let me have his horse cutter & harness whenever I wanted & dident take a ct. I aim you are agoing to get pay for those colts & turn it on the debt and if you can turn / the G_s with Chaffe for my debt do so if not Uncle Albert will settle. now write in your next letter and let me know how many of the debts are settled and how its done. I think I shall be out of debt in 3 mos any how and doing a little better. I shall have to tell you how many letters I got yesterday. I thought I was sent for when the P.S. got done throwing them out to me. he sais guess you better go with what you have got and come again to morrow amongst them I received one from Ed he is fell feeling well and got a bulley posish / in the provomartial Dept he thinks some of comeing down to see me and stay 8 or 10 days with me. well I have got the scarf yet and shall hang on to it a spell yet or at least intend to. pay Charles if you have the money. well I think I will send 5$ in my next for I think shall get a little soon I sent Uncle Albert 125$00 and should sent more if I had have had it but did not. Some times I have a good mind to try Soldiering for another year as I can $1,000 bounty and my old posish well I will now close hoping this to find you all well and on the everage. But sorry you are sick so much. I will now close Your Son Eaf.
