Dear Parents once more I take my pen in hand to write to you a few lines to let you know that I am yet in the best of health hopeing this short letter will find you the same. we expect to leave here before night we are all packed ready & waiting for orders. some thinks old Jo is agoing to change his base and fall back past the Potomack Crick. not river but we cannot tell nuthing about it untill we get there / and when we gett to our stoping plase then I shall write again I thought I wanted write a few lines just enough to let you know we are agoing to leave here for some other stand. I guess Old Jo. Hooker is getting kindy uneasy. the Rebs is getting on the right of us &c. &c. now I will say I recieved a letter from a person that keeps herself on poverty hill said she had bin in to our house lately. well I shall have to bring this to a close. I under stand we are going to the ReLay house 9 miles from Baltimore but think it is a rhumor that cant be relied upon the Boys needs rest we marched & carried our loads 23 miles in 7 & a ½ hours to slide therough [?] Gap. I went through with the rest. I have not fell out of the ranks but once since I came back. my peper is all yoused up again so send more. well can you make out ½ of it or not
