Dear Parents John & Lucinda Deloria and Dolphin How are you.
 
            Spose Dock is feeling a little better than he was when he left me at Baltimore Depot. well it is Toughf but honest.
 
            Dock I shouldent let you went yet but I saw you had the [?] and thought I would let you go while you could.
 
            I will say I am sorry it has turned out in any such way but as I told you to the Depot it will be a complete / lesson if you are a mind to heed it. I shall go after your pay this week but have but little faith in getting it as they will not be under any Obligations to pay any one but your Self. I want to hear all about how you got through and whether any detectives examined your valice or not. Did you have any trouble changing cars to Baltimore. well write us a history of your journey I thought it a shame in sending you off without any clothes suitable to ware but I couldent get them without money but I think you had a little / Lift when you got through if you worked it half way prudent and dident loose any of it. well Father I sent 3 or 4 hundred caps by Dock I hope you will take them and take care of them and keep the gun in good order Mother how does the sick cold get along. Dock I want you to take hold and help Father get his falls work done then get you some clothes.
 
            well I wont go on to write much more for spose dock will tell you all about the Good Bread & little water spoilt. well he sais / I never see any harder times than he has but he hasent layn out all night & stood Post with snow water and cold windy weather without a fire if I havent
 
Father I intended to send you 10 Dolars but couldent get only 2 months pay & the was $18.44 cts transportation out of that. well will close Please write soon and Oblige
