Dear Parents John & L. Brown Dock and Deloria       I now improve the present oppertunity of adressing you with a few Lines. hoping it may give you as great Satisfactory as yours did me that came to hand to day bearing date 16th mailed the 18th. Mother I was verry highly gratified to get another of those large and long interresting messive wich came to hand on a double quick. I have also got one from Sophia and that brought Gay news as well as yours but believe you can get up a little the longest one after all. I am glad to hear that the Railroad is going through there as you say the Comunity is round a settleing up for the right & claims. I havent concluded hardley which I shall do if the is a good chance there where they put up the Bridg & I can get a claim there I think I would do it as you dont want me so far from home this winter altho it would not / be so well for me to take it in a long run I spose Mr Manley is at home now but I will se him and if the is any chance for staying at home this winter and getting in here in the Spring I much rather do it. tell Father to not think of selling that lumber for we will find a better place than all of that comes to. you spoke about the next payment on the Land. dont you worry I know just where it is & it will be on hand in due time I'm not agoing to pay it all but one or two payments & then give it to them long as I have one sound eye and one arm if you think it best for me to put up then you had better speak to Mr Hayes and get a claim so I can set up there some wheres on the left-hand side of the Road near where they will work on the Bridg. if I go to this expence I shall go in for making a few lots and run the thing right to the handle if not farther. now you can do as you think best about it I would like to stay to home this winter but cant unless I am earning something or going to school. well it is agoing to take some brains or nonsens to fill this sheet out.

You spok about my frames if I get home and lay round this winter I will show you what Eph can do in that line. I think Em is doing old Peaches. I would like to know his adress verry well tell him to give account of him self soon as he can make it conveniant. I wrote to P.N.M. before I heard what to put on I will show my answer. it looks some like his writeing. Shall write again soon he got it verry nigh But I think it quite strang I did get nuthing down to make it known any how Mr Sergt Sim Ingrham is to home by this time I spose as he left 48 hours ago or longer he & I had quite a little talk before he left I see he is all right on Politicks. I wrote to day to Steph and told him if he got the money to give it to you it is a little over $10.00 but thats all you need take. Steph is a Bulley boy and we have had some hard times and scenes ceens or Seans togather guess my head isent clear for I cant spell for shucks to night. But if the wasent a word spelt write I should send it just the same I never write a letter and then tear it up do you Mamy I always let her slide

well I dont know but you will have to tell Sophia to send on her Rings if she can trust them on the road. But they may get lost also tell her I will make it right on the frame line if I ever get home. well it is tatoo and I must obey orders & go to Bead I may see the day that I can sit up till I get ready to go to bead but Soldiering must be bulley business or I never should stayed 3 years. I guess I will have to make it right with Charley Bates how much am I owing him do you know let me know in your next well Dad you may work & pay them & I will give you the money soon as I get home well I will bring this to a close as the maile will got in a short time. well I think I have writen about as much as you did and got down the most of the Partickulars. Father dont you think of selling your lumber and if you do I will speak for the first claim for we kneed it on our little patch I will close by asking you to write often. Give GrandFathers people my regards Urs in haste Sergt EE Brown to Parents Excuse & correct
