At camp at Whites ford maryland
i now take my pen in hand to let you that i am well and i hope this will find you the i haint much to rite this time we have had orders to march to morro morning We are goin acrost the river into verginia they say We have got to go down to the front and face the shels before richmon dam them iam ready i ges We shal smel gunpowder before long i doant no how long it will be before we shal see fun it be long before we shal be in hookers Div now i haint time to rite much this time nancy i will send you this ancor mary and orra i haint nothing to send send you this time i cant rite no more this time so good By rite as soon as you can from Georg Camp
