Dear Mother
I arived all right ride up with care last eve, but very tired indeed & this morn I do not feel entirely rested.  I found five letters from you, the ones that Brother Income had forwarded from Cincinnati to me here.  I expect to receive my apointment to day but may not for two or three, I called to see George Lozer last night I found that his wife had just left for home & I must say that I think she has acted very wisely indeed (as she always does you Know) I went to see “My Aunt” in Columbus & found her a perfect lady & I was very much pleased with her & think you would be.  Johny Vaughan is in town & Bill Ovinton but I have seen neither of them.  Robert Scott starts I believe for home to day.  I think that he is a very little home sick.  I found Mr. Tompkins Major Wentz & Robert  Atkinson all very glad indeed to see me & I think I shall put a long ____ night _____ home after I get fixed. I wish you would send me some papers from that part of the country for I want to see the _____ news & please write to me often & I will write home as often as I can.  Please direct to me at this place Lock Box 100 & all of your letters will I think reach me. I will remember all of my letters from this time & I wish you would do the same.  I am very sorry indeed to hear that Ruths health is  poor again must take the very best care of her for she is all the sister that I have now that Eliza has
been & gone & done it.  Hoping to hear from you soon I am with much love

                                                Your Affectionate Son
