Charles P. Egger
Charles P. Egger was born around 1843 in Mississippi to William and Sarah Egger. His father was a farmer who owned $1,200 of real estate and $1,200 of personal property by 1860. He grew up and attended school in Lowndes County, Mississippi. 
 
He enlisted in the Confederate army on April 7, 1862, and he mustered in as a private in Company D of the 24th Mississippi Infantry. He fell ill soon afterwards, and he spent several months recovering. He rejoined the regiment later that year, and he remained in the army until at least February 1864. He died sometime after February 1864.
