Friend C P Egger as some time has Relatsed sence i received your leter i now persome to write you a few lines witch leeves me well at presan & i hope when this comes to hand it may find you well Charly i have nothing of intrust to write the helth of the company is very good at this time charley i would like to see you boys though i dont want you to come back un till you get well it is a bad chance for a sick feller to get well in camps we air expecting a fight hear evry day the yankey air on one side of the tennesee river & we air on the other we go in a swimming on one side of the river & the yankeys on the other we have taken several prisenners sense we have got to this plase & several has desserted & come to us Charley we have went through a greit meny hardship sence you left us though i have stood it very well i am in very good healt know i have had the / yellow ganders thay made me very sick for a few days you must excuse my short & badly riten leter i will bring my this to a close by requesting you to write soon no more at present but remans your devoted friend untill deth  C.
