If Division Ordnance Officers have not been appointed in this Army they should be appointed at once by Division Commanders. They will be responsible that the Division to which they belong (Infantry Cavalry & Artillery) is supplied with the proper Calibre, kind and amount of ammunition
For Infantry there should be the following supply
60 rounds in boxes of men
80 " Division train
For Cavalry
40 rounds for carbines
36 " pistols
For Artillery
250 rounds—assorted per gun—
The Div'n Ord. Officers in case of action will place their trains in safe positions as near their Division as possible. Having placed their trains they will inform Brigade Commanders exactly where the Ammunition may be found and Brigade Commanders will send back in proper time to supply their commands before the ammunition in cartridge boxes is exhausted
