Dear Mother
I now take my pen to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope you ar the same I received you letter last night and was glad to hear from you i am sorow sorry that Horice is drafted drafted I suppose that flo will com home when horice is goig away I shall not come home one on a furlough they say that they ar building a hospital to Concord and we agoing to take all of the sick and wondid to thise one state and then / I can come Home and it wont cost me eney thing write as soon as you get this and write when horice will have to out if see him before he goes you tell him that I am sory sorry that he is drafted but he wont have long to stay for the warr ware wont last much longer I woud get a furlough but cant get a f very long one and I should have to come back in a few days and I should rather stay hear I was down to the sitty yesterday and I got got my pictur taken and I am agoing to send it home in this letter if you notise that little white spot on the hand that lays on my leg leg that / is whir the ball wen went in to my hand I cant think of eney more to write this time write as soon as you get this and and let me no how you get along so good by from
